A family member was recently side-swiped on the Interstate. The other driver tried to run, but we were able to stay with them while they tried to flee responsibility. When they finally stopped, the driver acted like we were the ones at fault. We called the police, got a police report and his insurance information. The next call was them confirming their insured was responsible and asking where we wanted to get the car repaired at. The moral here is that you never know when you're going to be in an accident and having something like this is well worth the investment. Had we not had a camera, we would have had to convince the insurance company that we were the ones telling the truth. Had they decided in the other parties favor, we would have been stuck paying a really big deductible, along with one or more claims on our insurance. Do not take that risk.
I will honestly say my unit still works as good as when i got it new all this time later it still works as fantastic as new for the cost its worth every penny without question its great at night it is a wide on some mirrors but its not enough to block your view im not a camera expert but they are clear and do the job
My daughter's first vehicle (2007 Mountaineer Premium, 4.6L V8, AWD) has proven to be a challenge for her to back out of spaces due to visibility. This dashcam fits over the rearview mirror and can be configured for the rear camera to be displayed on the screen at all time. Now she has a much easier time backing out when visibility is hampered by cars on either side of hers. The video quality seems good so far.
What a great investment. I was in an accident where the other driver made an illegal turn and came into my lane. Right away they insisted it was my fault, even after I told him I had him on camera. Both my wife and myself were hit by other drivers. The police officer told me we would have both gotten tickets, because it is your word against the person that hit you. I have an older Corvette that did not have a back up camera. This unit was easy to set up. Setup is pretty easy. It's basically a standard rear camera installation and then you strap the mirror part on. Definitely read the manual because you'll probably have to make some adjustments depending on your vehicle and your camera placement. It's as easy as swiping up or down to get it perfect!
